Architect (Yeh + Jerrard)
Set on a steep upslope lot, this house is expressed as a series of geometric volumes interplayed with semi-enclosed outdoor “rooms” to maximize living spaces while keeping costs down. The bottom level functions as a studio space for the clients, a video artist and a new media artist. The upper volume features a private aerie, accessible by ladder. Interior roof and wall planes extend outside the house, drawing the eye to the dramatic hillside views.
