branched drain systems rely on gravity
to distribute water through a yard.
greywater is collected at one or more
fixtures (showers, baths, and sinks) and
re-routed through a diverter valve in the
crawl-space or basement. in the yard
greywater flow is subdivided into
progressively smaller branches, irrigating
up to 8 mulch basins.

this type of system is simple, reliable, and
almost entirely maintenance-free. it's
slightly harder to modify than some other
systems if in future years your irrigation
needs change, and harder to fine-tune
greywater flow to each irrigation zone.
